Heathland Aquatic Engineering worked in collaboration with Heathland Fountains on this project for a private client in Epping, Essex near London. The client had contacted Heathland Aquatic Engineering about algal issues and low levels of dissolved oxygen in a lake on his property that had an island in the centre. The excessive algal growth was causing dead areas due to recused circulation.
After completing a site visit and measuring the volume of water within the lake and the water quality, the team at Heathland Aquatic Engineering proposed the idea of a bespoke aeration system using the AirPro 4 Diffused lake Aerator. The team had designed the proposed system to ensure the AirPro 4 diffused lake aerator system decreased algal blooms and increased dissolved oxygen levels as well.
We have expert knowledge in the field of aeration
The team at Heathland Aquatic Engineering have expert knowledge in the field of Lake Aeration, so are aware that aeration systems can have different outcomes depending on the systems used. For an efficient system that improves the overall quality of a body of water a bespoke aeration system is always best.
Once the client had read through and approved Heathland Aquatic Engineering’s plan for the proposed system, Heathland Aquatic Engineering then passed the designs on to Heathland Fountains who then supplied the bespoke aeration system for installation. The system came complete with a control panel and timer (in case the client wished to have the aeration units running at specific times of the day), a compressor unit, all power cables required, weighted airline and the diffuser units. The weighted airline is ideal for diffused aeration units as they sit on the bottom of the lake along with the diffuser base and are therefore not visible.
The team placed these four AirPro diffuser units around the island at regular intervals to ensure maximum coverage. The power supply for this diffused lake aeration unit was placed on the edge of the property and the power cables were placed in trenches running from the compressor to the lake and then filled in to hide and cables from sight.
