SUDS

Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems

At Heathland Group Limited we can help you with any of your SuDS needs. Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) are used to divert rainfall towards poor quality land, create wildlife habitats or create areas of interest within communities before the rainfall is drained off.

The concept of SuDS is not as widely known as would be preferred but SuDS projects have been very successful and beneficial within communities to help the natural environment thrive.

SuDS for Schools

The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) has created the SuDS for Schools Program to help make the concept better known and bring it into the forefront of modern day solutions.

This SuDS Program effectively copies the way in which lands retains and releases water. This helps to reduce a sudden rush of water through rivers, streams and brooks which is generally seen after heavy rainfall creating flood risks. SuDS also act as a natural filter reducing the amount of pollution washed into our waterways. Heathland Aquatic Engineering’s professional team works hard to ensure these areas are planned and actioned correctly to have the added bonus of creating beneficial locations for wildlife and beautiful places for all to enjoy.
