We have been supporting the wonderful canals and waterways across England and the rest of the UK for a number of years. We are on good terms with key clients such as the Environmental Agency and Wildlife Trusts. Most of our clients know exactly what to expect and they generally know all their requirements, so for private clients we have compiled a list of common questions and answers to aid your understanding of how we might support you with problems along your local stretch of canal.
Although we are based in Norfolk, we have completed canal bank erosion and canal maintenance contracts across the UK and in Scotland and Wales. We can also consider such contracts across Europe and even in other parts of the world.
No, our services are open to anyone in the UK, private or commercial. However on some projects, the Environmental Agency may need to give relevant permissions.

We use a wide range of materials to help prevent erosion and repair damage to eroded banks on canal systems. Plastic and steel piling, Nicospan, brushwood faggots, gabions, rockrolls, coir matting and concrete revetment materials are just some of the products available and there is a good choice of environmentally pleasing and more industrial solutions to help with erosion issues.
We probably get the most enquiries for herbicide and mechanical weed control. We carry out this work with our weed boat and other equipment throughout the UK and we are always busy during the warmer months dealing with choked canals.
We also provide dredging services for canals and again work throughout the UK using a combination of long reach excavators and floating pontoon dredgers for this type of work but we also have our own hydraulic pumping dredge.
We can also assist with erosion maintenance and repair for canals throughout the UK and Europe. We use a variety of engineering methods for erosion repair and maintenance and offer both hard industrial solutions and more environmentally friendly methods.
Yes, we have aquaculture services within the business that can handle fish surveys for canals but we only provide these services within Norfolk, Suffolk, London, Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire due to cost implications.
